12th MOZARTIANA International Mozart Festival
The annual MOZARTIANA Festival is a unique way of celebrating Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's music by taking a fresh look at it from various angles. Organised by Polski Chór Kameralny since 2006 for young and old, connoisseurs and general music lovers alike for an entire August week top musicians from Poland and abroad present several Mozartian concerts a day from classical to jazz (indoors ticketed - open air free) in Oliva's inimitable ancient Park, the 18thC Abbots' Palace and Uphagen's rococo House - let alone Oliva Archcathedral.
This year's special treats include the world premiere of the play Fantasia for the Oliva Organs starring Olgierd Łukaszewicz, appearances by star sopranos Julia Lezhneva and Robin Johannsen, as well as Polski Chór Kameralny, Jan Łukaszewski, Gaba Kulka, the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra and many, many more!
Grand Final Concert
Saturday 26.08, 21:00, in Oliva Archcathedral; a.o. C minor Mass with Julia Lezhneva, Robin Johannsen, Lothar Odinius, Wojciech Gierlach, Polski Chór Kameralny, and The Academy of Ancient Music under the baton of Jan Łukaszewski. Tickets PLN 30–90, available at www.ticketpro.pl and at the door.
The MOZARTIANA INTERNATIONAL MOZART FESTIVAL was created in 2006 by Jan Łukaszewski who also is its Artistic Director.
